208 Class Party 2005
Organizing this was, not surprisingly, very troublesome. I had to chase ppl for answers, and even then, last-minute change-of-minds were made… But irritating annoyances aside, it was one of the most successsful class parties (celebration or not) I had ever had in my history of annual class parties. I swore after Sec 1, never to have a birthday party again. This was different.
I broke my oath for one simple reason; it was a class party, the class was obligated to come. Those who ahd legitimate reasons were excused, those who "didn’t feel like coming" deserved to spend the weekend alone. *Ahem**CheeKeong**Ahem*
However, the movie was good, I enjoyed it (except maybe for my bursting bladder), and the dinner was okay too… Since I cooked it! (Well, some of it…) Most swam this time round, instead of last year (when only me and Darren swum during the party), but this was different. Even if they had no extra clothes, they came in wearing loaned trunks (I have to mention that Jun Jia looked particulary weird in my Dad’s old purple trunks…)
The swim was madness, the pump could not handle ten+ adolescent boys cannonball-jumping into the water, gangsplashing targeted victims, and especially the sudden displacement of water when a group jumped in together (which happened quite frequently =P)… More observation than participation on my part here though, I msut say I had lots of fun, even with minimal craziness…
The sleepover was even better. The partying went on till about midnight, when the swimming stopped, and the games begun (though the Xbox was already running for several hours)… Harry Potter for example, the Scene It DVD trivia game, that was super easy (apparently only to some)…
Sleeping was a bit problematic, with the limited space, and lack of blankets (since most felt cold by three in the morning…) But I wedged myself in between Wei Jie and Lennon (who were at a 90 degree angle, so I was at 45) and had a nice nap through Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone… Then when it ended, I woke up…
Since there was nothing else to do, I went back to sleep about two hours later (around 6 am) and woke up at around eight… What does one have to do to get some decent sleep in his own house?!?!?! (Nah, just kidding, I wasn’t planning on sleeping at all, but quite impossible without the assisstance of caffeine…)
That morning, I started by reading a book, then listening to my iPod when i got bored of reading… Then finally, they showed Harry Potter again, so I watched that (the full version this time) with disturbing comments from Lennon, well-deserving of very willingly-given "rewards" =P …
The whole of the morning was wasted away by then, and Harry Potter took us to lunch (not literally). The afternoon was also quite uneventful, unless you count the Xbox hoggers trying to get their last chance to play together…
That is about it, but I must say, the experience takes more than words to describe the atmosphere and feeling of this special class party. From a party veteran, take it from me, that there was never a party like this one.
