It has begun…

Cross country
The race begun smoothly, and ended with me soaking wet with sweat… Ew.

I overtook some lower sec ppl cuz they were walking so slow… Haha.

I jogged and walked the whole way with Lennon URGING me… Him and all his urges. But this one was actually a good one that benefitted me.

Thanks Lennon =P

Man of Letters
Anyway, after the cross country, there was a Dick Lee musical called Man of Letters, which I was supposed to attend, but I was half dead by then…

Of course the musical was great, with not-bad songs, but it was a BIT slow in my opinion… a love story to commemorate NUS centennial… appropriate?!?!

The food was good though =P HAHA.

RME Retreat
Well, what can I say? No one expected what we got. Everyone expected those three boring days to go past as slow as possible, but it went past quite fast, somewhat fun-packed as well… I MADE FRIENDS TOO =P !

The fellowship was definitely very strong, much more than I expected, and the spirit was quite high after the first day as well…

I won’t reveal too much, but I made friends while hanging around my good friends, so that was really nice, cuz everyone knew everyone through at least someone else… (If you get that =P)

The ppl running the camp (other than Mr Ang) were also very nice, and friendly…

Overall, I loved it quite much…

Group 6 members: Ryan, Joseph, Jon Soh, Matthew, Hansel, me.
Group 5 was also quite closely knit to us, with alliances in games and joint group meals; members: Marcus, Melvin, Sam, Julian, Ric, Kyle, Jervis.

I was treated like a pillow lah, mostly Ryan’s personal pillow, since I’m so big and soft, everyone liked to lean on me, especially during the sessions. I can have one in front of me leaning back on my legs, and two beside me leaning on both sides. *Sigh* I feel so "loved"?

Oh yeah, we played a prank on the last night, when everyone fell asleep watching Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. All those who had spectacles found them mysteriously placed on the altar in neat rows when they woke up. That was fun, no one knew we were doing that (Kenneth Edward, Glenn Sim, and me).

Anyway, there was confession, and some ppl haven’t gone in years (not me!), that was interesting for them, and for me to watch them fret! HAHA =P
Sharidan came to ask me what to say when we went in the room, so did Jervis… HAHA =P! Haiyo, these ppl never go for so long… *Naughty boiz*

Speaking of naughty, there was a little forfeit that involved a little dirty dancing, but purely for the sake of fun. I don’t know if I can disclose this or not, but Chris Teo was involved, and he had to pole dance around Jon Soh, and he did quite a good job, followed by Jeremy (dunno his surname)… Applause to those two brave souls… May they have a good confession =P

We also dressed Hansel up as a mummy, with lopsided boobs, and a *ahem*… We narrrowly lost best dressed mummy to some neatly wrapped up guy, but won the waterbomb fight, cuz we actually protected our mummy instead of letting him go out into the fight to get killed (we were supposed to see whose mummy lasted the longest).

I still can’t get over the fact that I made so many new friends… Haha, I’m just a big friendly giant, what can I say?

PS. I can’t wait for Kids Camp!!

Post-Exam Stress?

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

Who would think that the time AFTER exams is more stressful than studying for them! Oh well, now I do… So many projects, and all the results are nerve-racking… All I need is 19/40 to beat Eugene! AARRRGHH!!! The tension is killing me! Anyway, I failed physics… How sad =(, though it was quite expected…

My camps are coming up, though the one to Australia is cancelled… So now I can go for the RME Retreat! YAY =P! (That also means I get to skip training =) muahaha!)

Kids Camp is going on full steam, registration was a success, and now the waiting list ppl are in, with the facil drive quite successful too! I managed to get "Mr Lee" in, and Gen helped me scare him after Mr Ang sent us home in a taxi… Long story short, he’s in. Not sure about Julian, Alex, or any others…

Legion Chalet planning has been initiated, with the first session going quite well, though the HEAD didn’t think so… I’m I/C for loggies, and right now, there’s not much to do, so… That will come in a while, after Kids Camp.

Last weekend, after Common Test week, Belmond, Kian Tat, Lennon, and Qing Wei came over for one of our usual stayovers. This time, there was more variety, especially since it was quite a short period of three days, two nights. We watched M.I:3 and it was good, with Kian Tat sitting on the edge of his seat (haha) being wowed by the gadgets (though they were quite cliched…) Anyway, before that, we had bowling, and I was second last for the first game, second best for the second game, and third best for the third game! Interesting, eh? Never knew I had it in me =P… We played H2O UNO cards in the pool, cuz they’re waterproof… Cool stuff, got it for Christmas, finally put it to good use… Haha, they’re still not dry…

Today, we went out to walk at Botanics, and met up with Cherrybrook Kindergarten (having a field trip there), since my sister used to work there before she went to study abroad… I made friends =)! I had fun too! There were kids running all over the place, but it was really quite an organized mess, much unlike a primary/secondary school outing…

Can’t wait for camps to start… Tomorrow is some stupid Cross Country thingy… Damn dumb… Anyway, tomorrow night, I have some Dick Lee concert… Hopefully, it will be interesting… I hope Kat and Taylor make it to the finals too! Oh well, tomorrow is just another day…

I saw Poseidon on Mother’s Day eve, with my brother and mother, after eating a hearty meal at Carl’s Jr. That was fun, though my bladder nearly burst… All that water ~~~~ haha =P

Watching and waiting,

KIDS CAMP and Studies…

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

Kids Camp registration went well today… The response is indeed overwhelming, as I anticipated from the hype running through the church on weekends, when the corridors are filled with children and their squeals of laughter, their cries of agony and their contagious attitude of carefreeness… (Too poetic?)

There was this kid… Came to register during the final blessing, by himself. He told us his mom would come to register after mass, and we told him it was perfectly okay. Kristy asked that boy (Andreus) what school he was from, and he totally dao-ed her… So I tried asking, he looked at me and turned away… Kristy asked again, he didn’t respond, so I tried asking again… What kinda boy was that?!?!?! He then decided to reply; "I already said I’m not going to tell you!" And I was like… OKAY, FINE, BE THAT WAY! But all I said was "You didn’t say that…" Oh well, this camp is going to be interesting =P…

Overall, the response is gonna be good, I can sorta tell… But the problem was, most of the facils had stage fright, so no one dared to go up after announcements to make the announcement on the camp. I definitely didn’t want to do it, neither did Kristy or Steve. So we tried to get the reader to do it for us, but she didn’t trust that it was approved by Father Les, and didn’t do it… BUT, it was already in the announcements list, so she ended up reading it anyway… How ironic… Thank God I didn’t have to go up there =P!

Anyway, everything went successfully, and now I even have a money box! Great going, except for my TA studying… Damn, I have to get down to it sooner than later… I hope I can fit in some cramming tomorrow in between masses, maybe during too! *Sigh* I am so gonna screw up my TAs…

WISH ME LUCK, "my fingers are so crossed to the point of breaking", I just hope this is enough studying to get me through this term safely (meaning top 10), though I can dream on with the papers I’ve already taken…

*Sniff*

TA 2 and the Great Depression…

Friday, May 5th, 2006

Well, TA 2 is next week, need I say more?

I took a break today, and yesterday, and the day before… *Sigh* I just can’t seem to get down to work… Anyway, Geog was OKAY, not great, not bad, but still… 72% again… Better than deprovement, but I STUDIED for this one!!!

I screwed Lit up, and that’s gonna pay… I also can’t understand half the things they teach in class nowadays (referring to sciences), and I am SO unprepared for next week’s papers… How dead can I be?!?!?

This weekend is registration for Kids Camp, I don’t know how to work out whatever I’m supposed to work out, but I trust in God (hopefully, he can put my life back in order)…

NEWS FLASH: I won’t be going to Australia, since the convention that was being held there (and was also the purpose of going there) was cancelled due to Omegatrend (the company in question) in a state of "financial reconstruction"… How sad is that? I was quite looking forward to it… At least now I’ll be able to go for the RME Retreat! YAY! But then I have to go for all the NCC trainings… *SIGH* I just wish there was more time to relax nowadays…

Losing steam… ~~~~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~  ~  ~  ~  ~  ~  ~   ~   ~   ~   ~    ~    ~    ~    ~ (Steam)

Here’s a short story to unwind; I have voiced my "dislike" for NCC, and how I’ve "lost interest" in the CCA. I have not turned up for the past two trainings, with the excuse of studying for Common Tests… Now, Mr Heng is chasing me, cuz I "absconded" those two trainings, even though he specifically told me to go… And now, Mr Ser Han knows who I am (maybe for the better, or for the worse, I don’t know, but it certainly worked out with Mr Genesius Chan)… So I guess I just have to keep going for a while, but I am celebrating due to the fact that there is no training these two weeks! "Can you hear the angels singing?"

Lit class was really fun, Mr Alan Johnson is a REALLY good teacher, he impressed us with his depth of analysis… Even I didn’t know what to expect from him when he first stepped into the class… Anyway, one poem that didn’t make any sense to the class at all was stripped and dissected for everyone to "see how the pros do it". I had to admit, he is one of the best teachers I know (even better than Mrs Jey or Bro Jason)…

With the Maths and Science papers looming up before me, I really am shaking and quaking in my boots (not army boots, don’t even go there)… But not doing anything about it, cuz right now, I feel as if my mind is trying to be in a dozen different places at once… *Sigh* I hope I can just get one thing done at a time… Let’s start with the camp; I need to do last minute preparations, then I can bring my work to church to do and study there, since I’m probably going to be there for the whole Sunday… "With great power, comes great responsibility".

Oh, Eugene made a bet with me during Geog class… I doubted his Mathematical skills, and he challenged me. How could I refuse? I’m not one to gamble, especially with my personal agenda at stake, but his proposition was too juicy to resist… He told me, whoever gets the lower mark for combined maths cannot use hair products (gel, wax, clay, etc., excluding shampoo) for the period of the Legion Chalet… Isn’t that just mean? Makes you hold your breath in anticipation, doesn’t it? *Crosses fingers* I really hope I win =P

Anyway, for now, I’ll probably go to bed, since its quite late, I should get the Kids Camp thing done tomorrow, and ready… We need more facils though, so if you’re reading this you wanna join? Haha… Oh well =P

Wish me luck for TA!
GABZ.

PS Can’t wait for the holidays…. Can you =P ?
